Liverpool Philamonic Hall
Gigs going nicely. Bristol was probably the best for me so far, you know, one of those nights when you feel great purpose, although I have to say singing certain lines on Thursday night in Cambridge, in light of what was happening in Yugoslavia, was very emotive. Lines like 'you can only trample people down for so long' and songs like 'The good In Me Is Dead' take on a whole new meaning in those moments. I keep changing the set around which keeps me on my toes and fresh. Slightly startling moment at the Cambridge Corn Exchange when I get to my dressing room to discover that Melanie C was there a few days earlier as declares the schedule on the wall. Yikes, Spice Girls alert!Felt strange the next day as we played the Guild Hall in Portsmouth as I remembered the last time I played there I was opening for Mike and The Mechanics and sadly Paul Young, a singer with the band, died sadly earlier this year. Got to Portsmouth early so spent the afternoon in the local bookshop reading books I had no intention of buying. Drove home after the show as Saturday was a day off, think I broke the record for the drive back as I was sipping a cuppa at home at 11.30pm. Don't tell anyone though
