Lost or Found so far

Sorry about the gap folks, been doing my thing in very hot temperatures, being bitten by hundreds of mosquitoes, and arriving back at the hotel in the small hours rather drained. All good stuff though. Winnipeg is a huge festival and a great event. Played some beautifully located stages and gigs and made many new friends. Had some good press interest here too and did quite a lot of interviews. The highlight for me was singing a few songs on the main stage before Ritchie Havens played. Now some of you might not know who he is and if so ask your parents about Woodstock. He grabbed my hand and said some nice things as he was going on. I called him Mr Havens and told him it was an honour to play before him..nice moment. Later that night I found myself in Nick Lowe’s bedroom discussing life and the rest, quite a night. Hotel parties are a big tradition of these festivals and the musos tend to jam together in corridors and rooms. The end of festival party goes all night so with one and a half hours of sleep under my belt I made my way to the airport to fly to Calgary for the next leg. It was my birthday, but didn’t feel like it till I opened all the cards the family had given me to bring with me. A tough moment in many ways and for a while the blessing of what I do is lost on me as I read the words from my children. I have now spent my last three birthdays in Canada, now there’s a thing. OK. Lost or broken so far on this trip. Stepped on and trashed the sunglasses I bought in Rio (because I had lost a pair there!), bought a new pair and lost those somewhere at the Festival site in Winnipeg, bought new pair and I’m scared to wear them. Oh and yeh, my, er, wedding ring, lost that too. Was in the dog house a while for that one.
