Love from Seattle

I’m writing from Seattle. Played a show here last night at a place called ‘The Tractor’ and very fine it was too. Tonight we play Portland (I always say we as if I’m a band..hmm) and then fly down to California. The tour has had a great start with a week primarily in the snoBeautiful Banff, a night in Penticton that I would rate in my top 20 gigs of all time, Vancouver memorable too and a wonderful visit to Prince George which felt like a coming home show. I’m making the shows a little more concise, a little more focussed and it’s intriguing to me, and I don’t want to sound conceited, but it actually feels like a whole new MJ thing is happening. New songs ploughing through and I don’t think I have ever been more on top of things live. I have had a lot of practise though! As we head south now it will get a lot warmer before we head off to snow again in Denver. It’s hard to pack for tours like this. My buddy Simon flew home yesterday and I will miss him. It’s great though to be able to share these experiences with others close to me. I miss home more than ever these days. A sort of panic like fear that time and moments are passing without my presence. I have amazing support from that tribe of mine.
