The Rising

`m now in Prince Geroge, North B.C. Left Vancouver yesterday after a few hours hanging out with Sam Matorama. The day before i met up with Mike MacWilliam and met his lovely bride to be Lisa, so happy for them. Made a frantic dash to get a copy of Bruce Springsteen`s new album `The Rising`, which had its release yesterday.Also, bought half a dozen publications which had interviews with him, he`s on the front cover of `Time` magazine along with the Pope. The album has some great stuff on it, and one or two songs i can take or leave. At its heart its an attempt to deal with Sept 11 and its beautiful in its spirit and longing. Loved him for the fact that he quietly rang many of the relatives of the victims of that terrible day and talked to them for hours. I think he is the Pope. So, i`m chilling by the river, writing and reading, waiting for the Edmonton Folk fest in a week or so. Went to see the new Austin Powers movie and laughed to the point of collpase at times..the scene when he`s behind the screen....
