Do you know one end of an XLR cable from the other?

Are you interested in being involved in bringing music to the masses?

Lastly, are you available to and interested in becoming Martyn’s tour tech for this Autumn / Winter?


The role involves:


- Driving a van to transport the PA and equipment between venues
- Unloading the PA and instruments each night, setting up the equipment onstage before the show ready for Martyn to soundcheck, and dismantling after the show and loading all gear back into the van
- Preparing the stage each night for Martyn’s arrival
- Being the point of contact during the evening with technical staff and promoters at all venues.
- Being available throughout the show for any unexpected issues
- Working on a self employed contractual basis

Personal Qualities and experience:


- Whilst previous experience is not essential, some musical knowledge would be an advantage and previous touring/technical experience would be preferable
- You must be 25 or over and have a clean driving licence and be confident driving and manoeuvring a Ford Transit sized van.
- As the “face” of Martyn at venues you need to be friendly, cheerful and have a "can do” attitude, as the unexpected can often arise.
- Good problem solving skills are essential
- Good interpersonal skills are essential
- Experience of operating lighting equipment, or a willingness to learn would be advantageous

- A fixed fee per show, plus accommodation, hospitality and a doorway into the performing arts industry.
