Calgary, Metropolis, Organs, sleep

Back in Calgary for a few days as i`m playing shows in Bragg Creek and Canmore. Staying with Giovanna (my publicist in Canada) who on my arrival from Edmonton tells me its International Organ Festival time in Calgary..whopee! So, she has tickets for a showing of a silent black and white film called Metropolis which was made in 1926 by German film maker Fritz Lang. The show featured a live organist ( tie in with the organ festival!) and an English translater of the sparse German text. Now, one tends to stay up very late at folk festivals as they have some rockin good parties back at the hotels. This is the reason i fell asleep in the first ten minutes, and not becaise the evening of stark film, stiff characters and organ music didnt hold my attention. Fortunately there was an interval and we slipped away, but not before i was spotted by a member of the audience which i have to say is very worrying. After twenty years on the road i`m finally making forays into the organ recital fraturnity.
