From Ireland to Wales
Strange to pick the kids up from school, sound check, go home for tea and then go back to the gig and play.I'd stayed with good friend Steve Stockman in Belfast, did a student fundraising gig late on Thursday evening as well as a session on Steve's radio show. Friday being a day off was a prime target for a game of golf and I was quietly chuffed to drop only 5 shots around Royal Portrush. Steve's dad Sam is a member there and got us on. Caught the train down to Dublin on Saturday afternoon and on to the Point Depot in DublinSaturday was of course Eurovision night and it seems to have come from the Point every year for a long time. Rumour has it that Ireland was finding it so expensive to run the thing that they didn't want to win it anymore. I announced to the crowd that I thought it was Eurovision and I was the Welsh entry!! Big building this, I remember listening to U2 in concert form the Point on New Years Eve some years ago. Gig went well. Arranged for my guitar and golf clubs to come home on the trucks so I could fly 'lighter' home on Sunday. Dave and Olwyn Adams met me at the gig and looked after me for the next 16 hours or so! I need looking after, believe me!!First Cardiff gig went well last night, good response, the audience seemed to connect with the material, and lets face it, if they are not going to here then I'm in big trouble. The CIA in Cardiff has video facilities so I get shown on the big screen. Going to take a VHS copy tonight and have it in the shops by FridayMore coming soon....watch this space
