Glasgow (Martyn)
Woke up in a travel lodge somewhere near Newcastle, they all look the same! Quick cup of tea and then load up the car and set off for bonnie Scotland. I love going there and i'm looking forward to seeing old friendshave to do an interview for Scot FM just outside Edingburgh and we arrive with one minute to spare at 3.00pm. I sing a couple of songs and chat and head off past Hollie Johnson who is next in! the next part of the journey is a nightmare, the traffic is crazy and a quick call to Mac and Nige reveals that they are having the same problems. Eventually we make it to the venue but a little late which always adds a little stress factor. Stewart Henderson (poet and co-writer) is with us tonight, he will add a little more spice to the evening by reading a few poems out during the first set, the crowd love him and so do i. Must do some more together soonThe Cottier theatre is a lovely setting, a converted church. The only problem is that its freezing cold but despite this the gig is great. Love playing up here, always have. Plenty of guests hanging out tonight, the dressing roon becomes a thouroughfare but thats fine with me, the more the merrier. During the gig Nige creates Sci Fi noises as I relate the tail of the man in green. I have feelings you know! We retire to the home of my old friends the Churnsides where we play Russian roulette with a choclate game Sammy Horner bought me to 'cheer a sad man up!'. I bite the bullet by getting the choclate with the hot chile in it. I stare into a roaring Scottish fire, close my eyes and drift away.
