The Albert Hall and Radio 5

Two nights at the Albert Hall, what an amazing place to sing. All that history and the feeling that its yours for twenty five minutes, and what you gonna do with it all? Singing `The Good In Me Is Dead` there, with the odd Poppy still on the floor from the Remembrance service on the weekend was spine chilling for me.It`s moments like that which I will always remember long after I quit this job. On stage the first night i presented Chris with an award to celebrate sales of 45 million albums which, is a lot of albums, and an amazing achievment. Now i wouldnt mind one of those, but not if i couldnt feel and sing about these things that are so important to me. Made some new friends out there and caught up with some old ones. Was amazed to be greeted by the young man who sang the solo part in the boy's choir on Please Sir in 92! We didn't have too long to chat but I will find out what Tim is up to these days and let you know. Earlier in the afternoon I took part in Simon Mayo`s programme on Radio 5 Live, which was ironically coming from Cardiff. I was in the studio in London and enjoyed the discussion about identity and language. I even managed to get a question in to Rodrey Morgan (the boss of Wales) to ask how the process of getting Dic Penderyn a posthumous pardon was going! This, on the occasion of the first Ministers question time in the new Assembly! A few years ago I had sang `Dic Penderyn` at a ceremony at the spot where Dic was hung and Rodrey had been present. I thought it only fair to push the issue, and although things don't seem to have progressed very far, it was good to be able to mention the thing on national radio.
