In June 2000 I found myself with a little unexpected downtime. Due to rather obvious artistic differences, I left the Shirley Bassey tour after eight shows. I'd written a few songs while on the road and had a few ideas buzzing, so I decided to go into the studio. As the songs came I recorded, often working out the ideas on tape which is something I hadn't done before. I wrote as I sang, as I recorded, and it was a lot of fun. It took two weeks.
